Good morning,

just before I head up to Brighton Marina to get ready to sail west, there’s time to make the song for this first leg proper of the maiden voyage available. There are recordings from above and below the water (which you’ll find a lot on these songs), the percussion track is made from winch and rope sounds on the boat herself (she’s my new drummer) and the song documents Collective Spirit’s journey to Brighton. It includes a songwriter always accidentally saying ‘jive’ instead of ‘jibe’, chairs in the form of giant shoes and something Nelson says. A huge huge thanks to Alex and Thomas White, Marc Beatty, and Mary Hampton for being my Brighton band for the live gigs. And thanks too to the Nightingale Theatre, and everyone who came to the gigs.
