Welcome, this is the Blog to show the working Process of the Ship's Log, created and produced by Thirty Pounds of Bone. The Ship's Log is part of Lone Twin's 'The Boat Project.' Using the latest yacht building methods to turn wooden objects donated by people from across the South East into a seaworthy archive of stories and memories.

Following the adventures of its Maiden Voyage, the boat will be gifted back to the region as a permanent resource for the public.

The Boat Project is part of Artists Taking the Lead, a series of 12 public art commissions across the UK to celebrate the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad. The Boat Project is the winning commission for the South East region and is funded by Arts Council England.

The Training Weekend →

Hello, you’ll find a recorded version of The Training Weekend here. It tells of our (the crew’s) first weekend’s sailing together. Complete with knot practice, learning to read the instruments, taking the helm, and a force 9 gale warning and the subsequent race back to Portsmouth. You’ll find rhythms made from recordings from my phone taken from the trip. thanks, Johny.
